Here's My Chance With My CPA Girl Crush! Now Leave the Jenkins Alone
Kansas City Prime Buzz reports that my Bepearled CPA Girl Crush, Republican state treasurer and 2d District Congresswoman-elect Lynn Jenkins is getting divorced. The Buzz reports that her husband Steve filed in Shawnee District Court.
The Star’s blog further reports that they’ve been married 25 years.
Finally, my Bepearled CPA Girl Crush is available! Yes! (Just kidding. I am happily married to Mrs./Dr. Kansas Watch. God knows why she puts up with me. Has since 1981.)
On a far more serious note, I think Lynn and Steve are entitled to a little privacy in this matter. Yes, Lynn is a public figure. Yes it is a public document. And yes, I’m a Democrat and didn’t support her and wanted Nancy Boyda re-elected. But one thing we all can start doing is leaving politicians’ families alone when they appear to be innocent victims and are involved in the all too human problems that we all face—like divorce.
Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, and everyone in between has something that goes on in their lives that isn’t always pleasant or even everyone’s business.
I don’t blame the MSM for reporting it. It is news. But unless the Jenkins themselves air it publicly, it’s probably the only time it needs to be mentioned until it is finalized.
I suggest we let the Jenkins sort this painful time out for themselves with as much privacy and dignity as possible. Sphere: Related Content

How come no one writes about the first time they separated? Didn't her husband live in Minnesota for a year and come back here just before she filed of office? When does Nancy Boyda's husband decide he doesn't like having her around seven days a week?
Anon:
All good questions. But I'm not sure the answers are our business.
