Shout Outs to Kansas Prairie and Tony's Kansas City!

A couple of thank yous to some fellow members of the Kansas blogosphere.

Kansas Prairie has added me to their blogroll. Author Peg is a wonderful writer—and person. Dig this post about turning 80 that she “borrowed” from an anonymous writer:

I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person who lives in my mirror, but I don’t agonize over those things for long.

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I’ve aged, I’ve become more kind to myself. I’ve become my own friend….

Peg is 80 and blogging, which in itself is really cool. But she is a person who is in touch with

herself and her rural Kansas lifestyle. Peg, next time I’m in central Kansas, I’m going to meet you! You’re my new hero!

And Tony’s Kansas City has prMy Photooduced a post on Kansas Watch that is the funniest—and one of the most effective drivers of traffic—I’ve ever seen in a “welcome to the fray” posting. You just have to see it to appreciate it. I laughed my butt off when I saw it today.

Also, Tony combines really insightful commentary on all things Kansas City (and otherwise) along with funny photos of hot babes. Hard to beat a combination like that if you’re a guy.

Anyway, Peg and Tony, thank you for the warm welcome to Virtual Kansas!
