CBA Murderer, Sexual Harasser Isiah Thomas Set to Ruin Another Basketball Program

ESPN and the New York Times are reporting that former New York Knicks general manager and coach Isiah Thomas may be coaching the Florida International University basketball team.

Why anyone would want this arrogant jerk is beyond me.

Let's check his track record.
  • As a Detroit Piston, he played on perhaps the dirtiest squad in NBA history.
  • Bought the CBA and proceeded to bankrupt it in just a year.
  • Was bascially found liable for sexual harassment as the Knicks G.M.
  • Drove the once proud Knicks organization into the ground.
Here's how he does business, according to Cant' Stop the Bleeding:

“Just the rudest person that I have ever run into in my entire life,” says Rich Coffey, the former GM of the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Fury and now the owner of the Fort Wayne Freedom in the Arena Football League. “He’s a very poor business person. He doesn’t listen to people. He’s always right. He makes poor decisions, and I’m talking about the CBA in particular.

“Who he listens to are people who tell him what he wants to hear. The fact that he’s still in basketball and running the Knicks just astounds me.”

The Sioux Falls Skyforce, one of the most successful teams in CBA history both on and off the court, was also a victim of his poor management skills and narcissism.

Then there's the whole ugly sexual harassment thing. Even then, Isiah couldn't put his ego aside and take his well-paid lawyer's advice:

"I will not allow her or anybody, man or woman, to use me as a pawn for their financial gain," he said.

Thomas said he was ignoring his lawyers' advice to stay mum.

And then there was the verdict. Even then, the charmed Isiah skates:

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - JANUARY 16: (FILE PHOTO)...

NEW YORK -- In an end to a salacious three-week trial, a jury ordered the owners of the New York Knicks to pay $11.6 million to a former team executive who endured crude insults and unwanted advances from coach Isiah Thomas.

The jury of four women and three men found Thomas and Madison Square Garden sexually harassed Anucha Browne Sanders, but it decided only MSG and chairman James Dolan should pay for harassing and firing Browne Sanders from her $260,000-a-year job out of spite.

The result: The Garden owes $6 million for condoning a hostile work environment and $2.6 million for retaliation. Dolan owes $3 million. Though Thomas is off the hook for any damages, he leaves the case with a tarnished image.

Isiah's fake smile and charm have carried him much farther than anyone else with his obvious imperviousness to consequences, stupidity, and arrogance. Good luck, FIU. You'll need it.
